Product Overview:
The Hexagon Head Bolt (Hex Bolt) is a heavy-duty threaded fastener designed for high-strength mechanical and structural connections. Featuring a six-sided head engineered for maximum torque application via wrenches or sockets, it is the primary fastening solution in construction, automotive, and heavy machinery industries. When used with a nut and washer, it creates a reliable clamping force to secure assemblies under dynamic and static loads.
Manufacturing & Technology:
Cold Heading & Hot Forging: Bolts up to M24 are typically produced using Multi-Station Cold Heading to ensure high dimensional accuracy and surface integrity. Larger diameters or custom lengths are Hot Forged to optimize the grain structure for extreme load requirements.
Thread Rolling: Threads are formed using Cold Thread Rolling technology. Unlike cutting, rolling preserves the metal’s grain flow, significantly increasing the fatigue resistance and shear strength of the threads.
Heat Treatment: To meet Class 8.8, 10.9, or 12.9 standards, bolts undergo a strictly controlled Quenching and Tempering process in atmosphere-controlled furnaces to achieve a precise balance of hardness and ductility.
Anti-Corrosion Finishes: Available in Hot-Dipped Galvanizing (for outdoor use), Zinc Flake Coating (Geomet/Dacromet) for high-end automotive needs, and Electro-Zinc Plating for aesthetic and indoor applications.
Technical Parameters:
Standards: DIN 931 (Half thread), DIN 933 (Full thread), ISO 4014/4017, ASME B18.2.1.
Strength Grades: Class 4.8, 5.8, 8.8, 10.9, 12.9 (Metric); Grade 2, 5, 8 (Imperial).
