Product Overview:
Clout Nails, also known as felt nails or slate nails, are heavy-duty fasteners characterized by their short shanks and exceptionally large, flat heads. They are primarily engineered for fixing soft or brittle materials—such as roofing felt, slate, shingles, and sheet metal—to timber structures. The oversized head provides a massive bearing surface, which effectively clamps the material down without tearing or pulling through, even under high wind loads.
Manufacturing & Technology:
Cold Heading Excellence: Precision cold-heading machines form the integrated large head and shank, ensuring structural stability and a clean, flat surface for maximum contact.
Point Engineering: Features a sharp diamond point designed for easy penetration into wood substrates while minimizing the risk of splitting the timber.
High-Grade Galvanization: To combat the harsh conditions of roofing, our clout nails undergo a Hot-Dipped Galvanizing process (conforming to BS EN ISO 1461), providing a thick zinc coating that prevents rust streaks and premature failure.
Material Integrity: Produced from premium low-carbon steel for standard use, or copper and aluminum for specialized roofing applications where chemical compatibility is required.
